High in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand stands the sacred Kedarnath Temple – not just a destination, but a once-in-a-lifetime calling. At 11,755 ft, surrounded by snow-clad peaks and the powerful flow of the Mandakini River, Kedarnath is where faith meets raw Himalayan beauty. Every step of the trek feels meaningful. Every breath feels purifying. And when you finally stand before the ancient stone temple of Lord Shiva, the journey suddenly makes sense.
This is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and the most significant among the Panch Kedars — a place devotees dream of visiting at least once in their lifetime. The air vibrates with “Har Har Mahadev,” and the energy is something you don’t just see – you feel it deep within.
Yes, the trek challenges you. Yes, the mountains test you. But that’s exactly what makes the darshan so powerful. Kedarnath isn’t luxury travel – it’s spiritual transformation.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to take this journey, this is it. Don’t overthink. Don’t postpone. Some places are meant to be experienced, not imagined. Book the trip. Walk the path. Receive the blessing. Har Har Mahadev.
This is a budget spiritual expedition. Arrangements are basic but clean and practical. If you’re expecting premium hotels, luxury transport, or 5-star comfort – this trip is not designed for that.
We focus on: Covering Kedarnath affordably, Safe travel, Proper coordination, Honest communication
We do NOT control: Weather conditions, Temple closures by authorities, Natural calamities, Traffic delays in mountains
If darshan is affected due to the above reasons, adjustments will be made accordingly. No unnecessary drama – mountains operate on their own rules.
Meals are provided as per itinerary at accommodation. If delays happen due to traffic, roadblocks, weather, or group pace and we reach late (for example, midnight instead of 10 PM), participants may need to eat on the way at their own expense. Transparency is our style. No surprises later.

04:00 AM – Departure Towards Gaurikund
We will start early to avoid delays and manage crowd movement.
Kindly be aware that during peak days, there may be long waiting hours for the shared jeep ride from Sonprayag to Gaurikund. The waiting time can range from 2 to 3 hours depending on the rush.
Participants opting for Mule/Doli services must coordinate independently and reach the Kedarnath stay on their own, as the organizer will accompany the group trekking by foot.
We expect to reach Gaurikund by approximately 5:00–6:00 AM.
From Gaurikund, the 16 km trek to the sacred Kedarnath Temple begins. The trail is challenging yet spiritually uplifting, surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan views.
By late afternoon, we aim to reach Kedarnath Temple and proceed for darshan. After darshan, we will move to the campsite for dinner and rest.
Note: At Kedarnath, a government-issued token system for darshan was implemented last year, and we can expect a similar process this year as well. Based on the token availability and crowd situation, darshan may happen either on the same day of arrival or the following morning.
Please understand that this system is managed entirely by the temple authorities and is not under HTC’s control. We request all participants to cooperate patiently and be flexible with the schedule accordingly.
Stay at Kedarnath:
Accommodation will be in a basic campsite setup with sleeping mats and common toilet tents. Please note that facilities are minimal and bathing is not available. This is a high-altitude basic stay designed for pilgrims and trekkers.
Trek Distance: Sonprayag to Gaurikund – 5 Kms, Gaurikund to Kedarnath – 16 Kms.
The day begins with breathtaking views of the Himalayas, as the first rays of sunlight turn the golden peaks into a divine spectacle. The serene and refreshing surroundings create the perfect spiritual start to the morning.
For participants who receive darshan tokens for this day, we will complete darshan by approximately 9:00 AM and return to the campsite.
After breakfast, we will begin our descent towards Gaurikund (16 Kms). The downhill trek is comparatively easier but requires caution and steady pace.
From Gaurikund to Sonprayag (5 Kms), participants can either walk or opt for a shared jeep. Please note that during peak crowd periods, the waiting time for jeeps may extend up to 2–3 hours depending on availability.
By evening, we expect to reach Sonprayag. From the drop-off point, we will need to walk to our accommodation, as vehicles are not permitted up to the stay due to local regulations.
Upon reaching the stay by evening/night, you can freshen up, have dinner, and take well-deserved rest after the long trekking day.
Stay: Basic hotel accommodation (4/5 sharing) with proper washrooms and comfortable beds. Bathing facility will be available here.
Trek Distance: Kedarnath to Gaurikund – 16 Kms, Gaurikund to Sonprayag – 5 Kms.
After an early breakfast at Sonprayag, we will begin our return journey towards Rishikesh. Participants are requested to ensure that all personal belongings are properly packed and ready before departure. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Himalayan foothills, passing picturesque valleys, river streams, and winding mountain roads.
We will halt for lunch at a local restaurant, giving everyone time to relax before continuing the journey. As we proceed further, you will witness the gradual transition from majestic mountains to the plains.
By evening, we expect to reach Rishikesh around 7:00–8:00 PM. However, the bus to Delhi is scheduled around 11:00 PM. This buffer time is intentionally planned to ensure that no one misses the return journey, as traffic and weather conditions during the yatra can be unpredictable.
After regrouping in Rishikesh, we will board the bus and begin our overnight journey back to Delhi.
Distance Travelled: Approx. 220 Kms
Travel Duration: 9–12 Hours (depending on road and traffic conditions)
We expect to reach Delhi around 4 AM, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Participants planning return travel are advised to schedule their return journey after 8:00 AM. However, we strongly recommend booking flights or trains post 10:00 AM, as there is a higher possibility of traffic congestion around Rishikesh and en route to Delhi during the yatra season. Planning with a buffer will help avoid last-minute inconvenience.
At HTC, your safety remain our top priority throughout the journey. However, certain circumstances such as traffic conditions, weather disruptions, or decisions made by local authorities are beyond our control.
